The FE-5030 features a Double-Layered Crystal Shell exterior that exudes high quality and enhances both camera handling and pride of ownership. The clear transparent acrylic shell that encases the camera shimmers like a reflection in a pool of water, constantly changing colour and appearance, sometimes appearing subtle and elegant, sometimes sparkling like a glass of champagne.

The FE-5030 is a digital camera with a 14-megapixel CCD, 5X optical zoom lens and DUAL IS image stabilization based on CCD-shift image stabilization and high-sensitivity shooting for effectively reducing image blurs due to both camera shake and subject movement. It is designed to facilitate the camera's three basic functions of shooting, viewing and erasing so as to allow even beginners to enjoy reliable shooting. Featuring the "iAUTO" function that analyzes the current composition and optimizes camera settings automatically when the mode dial is set to "iAUTO" - even with scenes that conventional AUTO modes find difficult to handle, the FE-5030 can be used anytime by anyone.
