Details This package provides a NIS 2008 Modem Compatibility Update for the supported notebook models and operating systems. HP recently discovered a compatibility issue that can occur when your computer goes into the Sleep state or Hibernation while still connected to the Internet through a modem. This update addresses the compatibility issue. NOTE: If you are using a broadband Internet connection, this information does not affect you.

- Fixes issue where the system hangs, or a black screen or blue screen is displayed when resuming from Sleep/Hibernation (S3/S4) state with an active modem connection.

- Fixes issue where the notebook does not wake from a magic packet (WOL).

HOW TO USE:
NOTE: Installing this update disables the Network Map feature of Norton Internet Security 2008. Network Map permits you to monitor the state of other systems on your home network. If you want to retain the Network Map feature, do not install the update. Instead, to avoid possible data loss, be sure to disconnect your dial-up connection before the computer goes into the Sleep or Hibernation state.

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
